Description

Our group is for south-asian girls but if someone else wants to join they are welcomed.

We will plan events centred around asian culture such as fashion shows, qawwali nights, social gatherings with asian food, film screenings with bollywood movie nights.
Workshops & Seminars - classes or talks on traditional dance, music, crafts, discussions on cultural identity.

 

We are looking to plan culture days for people not only for south-asians but everyone. They will have a chance to express themselves and their culture and wear their traditional clothing.
The activities will be applying henna, dancing on bollywood songs, making the traditional chaii and talk about heritage and play games.
The activities will take place in the university or outside depending on the event.

 

This group is needed because our university lacks representation of south asian culture, also with culture days and people will be less stressed from uni life and take a day off to reset and enjoy themselves.
Activities will take around south asian festivals such as diwali, holi and eid.

 

However, workshops will take place monthly or weekly.
